Among the affected services were a great number of VPN providers. At least momentarily, users of those affected services risked having their passwords and usernames intercepted, as well as other data they sent over a secure connection. Perhaps even more worrying, successful hackers could have gotten their hands on private keys and certificates of VPN servers.
